Get to know Ezana
Ezana tamrat
Ezana is a first-generation immigrant from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, raised in Arlington, VA, dedicated to sharing resources with historically unserved communities, specifically, immigrants. She is committed to assisting families in navigating the citizenship and temporary residence process and advocating for a fairer, more efficient national system. Her professional journey includes significant experience in education policy, gained during her time as a Presidential Scholar with the UNC System, where she worked across various departments supporting higher education institutions.
As a ReNew Democracy Foundation Fellow, she is assigned to the office of Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen, serving Colorado's 7th District. Ezana plans to continue her public service journey by working on federal programs and later in the future, attending law school to focus on human rights and international law. Ezana is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In her free time, she enjoys connecting with her family, exploring new opportunities to make a difference, and preparing for her future. Ezana is honored to use her skills and experiences to advocate for and support the goal of an equitable society.
