luisa lopez

Luisa is a first-generation Mexican American who loves giving back to her community. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Communication on Broadcasting and New Media, along with a minor in Marketing from Grand Canyon University. She is currently working for New Democrat Coalition member Rep. Morgan McGarvey (KY-03) as a ReNew Democracy Foundation fellow.

At her university, Luisa was the Vice President of the Latino Student Union and an ambassador for CIS Abroad. She was a mentor for Government of Mexico programs such as PICV and the Binational Health Week conference for Mexican Immigrants in the U.S. As a Live Mas Scholar, Luisa has also created her own refugee assistance program.

Growing up in a border town provided Luisa with insight into the challenges faced by immigrants. Her primary policy interest is Foreign Affairs, and particularly Immigration. Her main goal is to contribute to the support and advancement of communities that are just like hers.
