Mahika Meesa
Mahika Meesa is a first-generation South Asian American college graduate from the University of Kansas (KU), where she recently earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a double minor in Business and Dance. She is excited to serve Kentucky’s 3rd District in Rep. Morgan McGarvey’s office, bringing a passion for public service, policy, and community engagement.
Mahika gained hands-on experience in government as a congressional intern for Representative Sharice Davids, where she discovered her passion for policy-making and constituent advocacy. While at KU, Mahika served as a Student Senator, served as an Executive Board Member of the South Asian Student Association, and graduated with University Honors. In her free time, she was a member of the University Dance Company and taught dance for the City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department, where she promoted physical education and creativity among youth.
Born and raised in Kansas City by immigrant parents, Mahika’s upbringing instilled a deep commitment to ensuring that every voice is represented in democracy. She hopes to pursue a career in immigration and public interest law, using advocacy to open doors for others just as her community did for her.
