ReNew Democracy Foundation Announces New 2025 Leadership Position
Sharice Davids to serve as Honorary Chair, while Marc Veasey, Salud Carbajal, and Marilyn Strickland will continue service as Honorary Vice Chairs
Washington, D.C. — Today, the ReNew Democracy Foundation announced new leadership for the New Year. The ReNew Democracy Foundation works to open doors for a diversity of new voices from across the country who want to make a difference in pragmatic, solutions-oriented, center-left Congressional offices by supporting these new and current leaders with educational development opportunities, mentorship and professional networking through the inaugural ReNew Democracy Fellowship.
“I’m thrilled to serve as Honorary Chair of the ReNew Democracy Foundation, an incredible initiative to help open doors and foster the development of the future leaders of America,” said incoming Honorary Chair Sharice Davids (KS-03). “The work we do now to support the young professionals will help ensure the next generation of lawmakers, business leaders, and policy experts move our country forward. With the experience gained and lessons learned from serving as Honorary Co-Chair during the first year of the fellowship, I can’t wait to take this organization to new heights alongside Honorary Vice Chairs Marc Veasey, Salud Carbajal, and Marilyn Strickland, as well as our exceptional Board of Directors and staff.”
“Sharice is a wonderful leader in the halls of Congress, and an inspiration to young leaders across the country. She has the dedication and passion needed to spearhead such a critical project,” said New Democrat Coalition Chair-Elect Brad Schneider. “ReNew Democracy Foundation hit the ground running with its inaugural cohort, supporting five exceptional fellows that have contributed to the success of their congressional offices and taken significant personal and professional strides. I’m positive the Foundation will flourish under the leadership of Honorary Chair Davids and the rest of the team.”
“To build a strong center-left future, we need to empower the next generation of leaders and that is why the ReNew Democracy Foundation exists,” said John Michael Gonzalez, President, Board of Directors. Rep. Sharice Davids is a dynamic leader of the New Democrat Coalition that represents this next generation. She is an inspiration to our Fellows and I look forward to working with Rep. Davids as our new Honorary Chair and our team of Honorary Vice Chairs.”
